Does anyone have a tried and true chili recipe? I have been looking for one for at least 2 years now.....My husband would greatly appreciate it!!!:)

  1. We LOVE chili too! It's so good on cold, wet days. I just use whatever I have around and it always turns out great.

Just brown some ground meat or ground turkey (whatever you prefer, sometimes I do a pound of each if I want to freeze the leftovers for later)
Throw a red onion (chopped) in to saute once the meat is browned
I love the McCormick Chili seasoning mix to make the job easy.
I throw in diced tomatoes (I love the Rotel Original), use as much as you like
If your kids don't mind it a little spicy you can add a a cup or two of salsa
    1 can of pinto beans
    1 can of refried beans
Depending on how much meat you made you can add more beans and tomatoes to it
I also add a cup or so of frozen corn, I love the color and it taste great
Let it simmer and then taste it to see how it is. Sometimes I'll add extra seasoning or salsa depending on taste.
Throw some cheese, sour cream, and some sliced green onions and it'll taste great!

It's so easy to make in the morning and let it simmer all day. Then all you have to do is throw it in a bowl and add the condiments. Plus it's great as leftovers. Joel likes it with a tortilla, cheese and sour cream the next night.
If you make it you'll have to let me know how it turns out. Good luck! ;)
